Lomo'instant Wide Portobello Road Review:
I was really excited to get this camera, however, I’m completely disappointed. The camera body is bulky and cheaply made (plastic). For $249 I would expect more. The lens pack is also cheaply made plastic which they usually charge $68 for if you buy it on its own, I wouldn’t. Its annoying to have to carry around all of the accessories, including the tiny flash gel pack. Getting the settings right for a decent photo is still difficult. Lomo promises easy use but I followed the manual and card settings which weren’t even close to accurate and I got 1 good photo and 1 OK photo out of a 10 pack. I do have the Fuji instax mini, a lomo, and a holga, so I’m very familiar with these types of cameras and shooting with them. I thought from the features, that this camera would solve earlier issues with their cameras but it fails. Also, the cheap back which holds the film inside is extremely flimsy and leaks light down the entire left and right sides of every photo that I take. Sometimes it leaks around the top corners as well. As bulky as it is, lomo does not include a camera strap and there’s no easy way to handle the camera without a strap which is $12 in the lomo store. I’m currently returning it for manufacturing defects. I won’t be having a new one sent. This color way has sold out but it was the only thing I liked about it. The Fuji instax 90 ($149) is a better option if you’re looking for this type of camera and photo style. Film packs are the same for both.
